Baseball Recap: Pickens Academy Pirates vs. South Lamar Stallions
There's no place like home for Pickens Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the South Lamar Stallions on Tuesday.
Tyde Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dalton Crowe was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Moss, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
