Brooke and East Liverpool are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Bruins will host the Potters at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Brooke is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Brooke made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Buckeye Local, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bruins put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-1 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.
Andrew Murdock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Murdock was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Brooke's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Garrett Moore was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Brooke: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Zac O'Mery was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Brooke was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, East Liverpool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Harrison Central, falling 19-3.
East Liverpool saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Duke, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Duke brought in this season.
East Liverpool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Brooke, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
East Liverpool's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Brooke has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for East Liverpool, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Brooke keep running through batters, or will the Potters buck the trend?
