Basketball Recap: Walla Walla Comes Up Short

Walla Walla lost against Chiawana back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walla Walla Blue Devils were dealt an 88-26 defeat at the hands of the Chiawana Riverhawks. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chiawana to victory, but perhaps none more so than Baylee Maldonado, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 17 points. Kaia Foster was another key player, going 6 for 11 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Walla Walla now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Chiawana, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Walla Walla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-31 victory against Hanford on the 14th. As for Chiawana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-55 win against Hermiston on the 14th.
