Basketball Recap: Bryan County Comes Up Short

Bryan County lost against McIntosh County Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bryan County Redskins were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers.

McIntosh County Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Ellis, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points. Mj Quarterman was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 13 boards and three steals.

Bryan County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for McIntosh County Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Bryan County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-44 victory against Jenkins County on the 14th. As for McIntosh County Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-45 loss against Savannah on the 14th.
