She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Baker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Bailey Frazier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
South Laurel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Southwestern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. However, it's not like South Laurel struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
