            Baseball Recap: Red Land Patriots vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Red Land extended their losing streak  to five  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by  exactly two  runs.

  Luke Celtruda was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
As for Bishop McDevitt, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
 On Bishop McDevitt's side,  not much got past  Tyler Shroy, who gave up just  a  hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Red Land off the board. The Crusaders are 2-1 when  Shroy allows one or  fewer  hits, but 5-10 otherwise.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Land will head out to  take on Northeastern  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their  tenth straight  victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop McDevitt, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Trinity  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Shamrocks have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four contests.
