Basketball Recap: East Jordan's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

East Jordan extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from June Kirkpatrick. The East Jordan Red Devils put the hurt on the Mancelona Ironmen with a sharp 55-30 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Kirkpatrick, who went 11 for 25 on her way to 28 points and eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of East Jordan's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Kirkpatrick, who posted no points in addition to eight boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

East Jordan's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Mancelona, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Jordan will venture away from home to take on Boyne City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. East Jordan is facing Boyne City at the right time seeing as Boyne City is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Mancelona and St. Mary Cathedral will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary Cathedral's defense has only allowed 26.6 points per game this season, so Mancelona's offense will have their work cut out for them.
