Baseball Recap: St. Albans Triumphs

While St. Albans's win against Lake Placid wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The St. Albans Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Lake Placid Dragons 8-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 last Tuesday.

St. Albans' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was George Minjack, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Minjack a new career-high in RBI. Henry Miller also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

St. Albans now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lake Placid, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

When St. Albans and Lake Placid next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. St. Albans will try to stop True North Classical Academy's four-game winning streak when they meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Albans is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. Similarly, Lake Placid will challenge Sebring and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
