Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Yuma

Yuma got themselves on the board against Burlington on Saturday, but Burlington never followed suit. They didn't even let the Cougars on the board, marking their second-straight 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Lennox Huwa, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Alex Pensado was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Yuma and bumps their season record up to 14-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Burlington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Yuma will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Byers at 3:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Outlaws surely won't give up without a fight. Burlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
