Volleyball Game Preview: St. John Paul II Academy Eagles vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

St. John Paul II Academy are taking a road trip to challenge North Broward Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. St. John Paul II Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Christian Academy. St. John Paul II Academy has struggled against Calvary Christian Academy recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

St. John Paul II Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-22, 25-16, 26-24.

North Broward Prep extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Destiny Wiggins. Everything went the Eagles' way against Benjamin on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win with plenty of help from Wiggins, who had 11 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.

St. John Paul II Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for North Broward Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

St. John Paul II Academy came up short against North Broward Prep when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 2-0. Can St. John Paul II Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
