Centaurus waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Jefferson Academy Jaguars with a sharp 16-6 victory. Considering the Warriors have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Nora Midness made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Emery Fannin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Kaitlyn Long was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Centaurus didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy only tossed three.

Centaurus pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Centaurus will face off against Pomona at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pomona is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Jefferson Academy, they will square off against Thomas Jefferson at 9:00 a.m. on September 27th.
