Baseball Recap: Lower Cape May Beats Bridgeton for Their Third Straight Victory

Lower Cape May entered their tilt with Bridgeton on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Sean Kelleher made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ashton Ray was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Matt DiCave was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Lower Cape May pushed their record up to 8-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bridgeton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21-1.

Coming up, Lower Cape May will venture away from home to face off against Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bridgeton, they will take on Wildwood Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
