Five-star cornerback prospect Olaijah Griffin commits to USC

USC's Top 15 recruiting class got a whole lot better Wednesday as defensive back Olaijah Griffin of Mission Viejo (Calif.) delivered a pledge to the Trojans.

The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback is regarded as the No. 28 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 by 247Sports and the No. 3 player at his position.

Griffin is coming off a big senior season at Mission Viejo, which went 12-1 and finished year ranked No. 17 nationally by MaxPreps. He hauled in 33 passes for 875 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense while recording 40 tackles defensively.

Along with quarterback JT Daniels and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), USC has now signed or received commitments from the top three players in the state of California.



Griffin, the son of famed West Coast rapper Warren G, also considered Alabama, Oregon and Tennessee.
