While Tates Creek's victory against Scott County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Commodores narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Garrett Biroschik looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tates Creek's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Finley Insko, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Tates Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Scott County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.
