Soccer Game Preview: West Ashley vs. Fort Dorchester

West Ashley is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Fort Dorchester Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

West Ashley is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Wando just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Warriors are ranked first).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Fort Dorchester was forced to settle for a draw. They and Stratford finished up their game with a 2-2 draw on Friday.

Fort Dorchester's draw gives them a new season record of 4-2-1. As for West Ashley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

West Ashley came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Dorchester in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will West Ashley repeat their success, or does Fort Dorchester have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
