Preview: Grosse Ile Red Devils vs. Romulus Eagles
The Grosse Ile Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Romulus Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grosse Ile is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-7, which was the final score in Grosse Ile's tilt against Riverview on Friday. While losing is never fun, Grosse Ile can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Riverview is ranked 87th).
Matthew Pizzo put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Romulus got themselves on the board against Melvindale on Thursday, but Melvindale never followed suit. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 12-0.
Romulus' victory bumped their season record to 4-4 while Grosse Ile's defeat dropped theirs to 1-7.
