Softball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Ralls Jackrabbits

The Liberty Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Ralls Jackrabbits at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Liberty will be strutting in after a victory while Ralls will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with 14 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Liberty turned things around against Abernathy on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Antelopes as they made off with a 16-5 win. The Patriots not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ralls came up short against Petersburg on Tuesday and fell 24-20.

Mercedez Alcala and Destiny Garza did some serious damage despite the final result: Alcala went 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and one double, while Garza got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Alcala has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brinley Navarette, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Ralls has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. Liberty's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11.
