Lake View extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-49 W against the Lubbock Westerners. The Chiefs/Maidens' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Izaiah Rios, who rushed for 269 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per carry. Those 269 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

As for Lubbock, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. They gained 110 more yards on the day, but it was Lake View that made the best use of them.

Despite the defeat, Lubbock saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bo Davis rushed for 340 yards and three scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 41 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 340 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Davis. Zach Reyna was another key player, rushing for 31 yards and a pair of TDs.

Lake View wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 40-33 loss against Levelland on the 26th. As for Lubbock, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tascosa at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Westerners' offense will have their work cut out for them.
