Softball Recap: Andrew Victorious

Andrew came out on top against Minooka on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Thunderbolts walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Indians. That's two games straight that the Thunderbolts have won by exactly three runs.

Maddie Murray and Ana Cisek did most of the damage at the plate: Murray went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Cisek went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Cisek has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Leighton Gutsch, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Andrew was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minooka only posted a batting average of .185.

Andrew has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.0 runs this season. As for Minooka, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Andrew will be playing in front of their home fans against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Minooka, they will head out to take on Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
