Football Game Preview: Fairview Tigers vs. Corry Beavers

The Fairview Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Corry Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview has given up an average of 34.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Fairview came up short against Fort LeBoeuf and fell 32-21. While the Tigers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Bison 14-3.

Despite the loss, Fairview had strong showings from Joey O'Reilly, who rushed for 41 yards and three scores, and Caden Oldach, who rushed for 105 yards on only 14 carries. Oldach also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Meanwhile, Corry didn't have too much trouble with North East on Thursday as they won 34-16. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Beavers.

Fairview better keep an eye on Blake Cook. He was instrumental in Corry's win, picking up 215 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cook showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 60 yards. Corry also got help from Connor Sterling, who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.

Corry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gavin Greer, Cook, and Chris Bemis picked up one apiece.

Fairview's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Corry, their record now sits at 5-2.

Fairview took a serious blow against Corry in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 40-7. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
