Soccer Game Preview: Jarrell vs. Northeast Early College

The Jarrell Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Northeast Early College Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Jarrell duked it out with Eastside Early College on Tuesday. Jarrell was the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Eastside Early College. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Cougars were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Northeast Early College had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Buffaloes get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 13 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Northeast Early College pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four contests. As for Jarrell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-5.

Jarrell suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Northeast Early College in their previous meeting back in February. Can Jarrell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
