Baseball Recap: West Campus Warriors vs. Burbank Titans

West Campus extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 12-12 in the process. They came up short against the Burbank Titans, falling 12-0. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Burbank, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Considering they have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Burbank's part, Kevin Duplessis made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Duplessis has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Burbank is 13-2 when Duplessis posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mario Mendoza was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Massey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

While West Campus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
