Soccer Game Preview: Marian vs. Bellevue East

The Marian Crusaders will challenge the Bellevue East Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Marian sitting on three straight victories and Bellevue East on four.

Marian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Lincoln East, who was ranked third at the time (Marian was ranked seventh). The Crusaders walked away with a 4-2 win over the Spartans on Saturday. That's two games straight that Marian have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Lincoln East with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Skylar Farley (2), Leena Brunt, and Cooper Dally.

Meanwhile, Bellevue East kept a clean sheet against Bryan on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 5-0 victory. Give Bellevue East's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Marian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bellevue East, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
