Soccer Game Preview: Summerville vs. Calaveras

The Summerville Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Calaveras Red Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Summerville's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last six matches.

On Tuesday, everything went Summerville's way against Big Valley Christian as Summerville made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Calaveras didn't have quite enough to beat Riverbank on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Summerville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 60 goals over those 13 matches. As for Calaveras, they now have a losing record at 7-8-2.

Everything went Summerville's way against Calaveras in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Summerville made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summerville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
