Newaygo waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the White Cloud Indians a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-4 on Thursday.

Alyssa Echtinaw looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Newaygo got a massive performance out of Chlowie Finkbeiner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Arney, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Newaygo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.

Newaygo's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for White Cloud, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newaygo will head out to face off against Reed City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White Cloud, they will venture away from home to square off against Hesperia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
