Baseball Game Preview: Marion County Mustangs vs. South Shelby Cardinals

Marion County is 0-3 against South Shelby since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Marion County will be strutting in after a victory while South Shelby will be coming in after a defeat.

Marion County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Bevier as they made off with a 12-1 win. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Meanwhile, South Shelby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-1 to North Shelby. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Marion County's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Marion County couldn't quite get it done against South Shelby when the teams last played back in April of 2021 as they fell 7-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
