Basketball Recap: Hercules Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Josh Somosierra and Keoni Espeleta

Hercules was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the American Canyon Wolves. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Titans couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Hercules had strong showings from Keoni Espeleta, who posted 12 points, and Josh Somosierra, who put up 12 points.

Hercules' record now sits at 6-9. As for American Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.

Hercules won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against De Anza at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hercules is facing De Anza at the right time seeing as De Anza is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for American Canyon, they will welcome Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Canyon will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Petaluma will have lost 11 straight heading into Wednesday's contest.
