Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. Mississinewa Indians

Sheridan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mississinewa Indians. The Blackhawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mississinewa scored at least 12 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12.

Lainey Mendenhall paced Sheridan's offense, picking up 20 kills. Mendenhall got some help from Adria Jump and her 24 assists.

Makenna Campbell was a one-woman wrecking crew For Mississinewa. as she had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Campbell has posted since back in September.

Sheridan's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Mississinewa, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Sheridan and North Montgomery will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mississinewa, they will be playing at home against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
