Baseball Game Preview: Nordonia Knights vs. Twinsburg Tigers

For the second straight game, Nordonia will face off against Twinsburg. The Knights will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Nordonia 3.5, Twinsburg 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Nordonia sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Twinsburg. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted against the Tigers since April 26, 2017.

Nordonia got a great performance from Evan Leitner as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The Knights are 2-1 when Leitner allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Nordonia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Leffel, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Justin Smigel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Twinsburg is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5. As for Nordonia, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
