Basketball Recap: South Vermillion Triumphs

South Vermillion won the last time they faced Seeger, and Aden Wallace did his part to make sure it happened again. The South Vermillion Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 win over the Seeger Patriots on Saturday thanks in part to Wallace, who went 11 of 19 on his way to 31 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Seeger's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Cole, who went 8 for 13 en route to 20 points. Garrett Cooksey was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five boards.

The victory got South Vermillion back to even at 5-5. As for Seeger, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-5.

South Vermillion has already played their next contest, a 58-43 defeat against Terre Haute North Vigo on the 13th. As for Seeger, they will take on Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seeger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
