Basketball Recap: Cooper Graham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lincoln Park Academy

Port St. Lucie won the last time they faced Lincoln Park Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars blew past the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds 57-31. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-9.

Port St. Lucie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Graham out in front who posted eight points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Graham a new career-high in steals. Antonio Richardson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Port St. Lucie was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Park Academy only posted three assists.

Lincoln Park Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tamario McLeod, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points along with six rebounds and four blocks, and Kyle Lexer, who had five points.

The win made it two in a row for Port St. Lucie and bumps their season record up to 7-14. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Port St. Lucie and Lincoln Park Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Port St. Lucie (ranked 422nd) will meet Centennial (ranked 66th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Lincoln Park Academy will take on Treasure Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 522 places (705 vs. 183).
