Basketball Recap: Callaway Cavaliers vs. East Coweta Indians

The Callaway Cavaliers won the last time they faced the East Coweta Indians, and things went their way on Saturday too. Callaway snuck past the Indians with a 46-41 victory.

When it comes to explaining why East Coweta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kezoriyah Blackshear. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That was a full 46.3% of East Coweta's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Reams, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, East Coweta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 16 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Callaway is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for East Coweta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Callaway is on the road again on Friday and plays the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for East Coweta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m.
