Softball Recap: Metro Tech Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Metro Tech). Everything went their way against the Central Bobcats on Monday as they made off with a 25-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Joselyn Morales and Sarah Flaherty did most of the damage at the plate: Morales scored four runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-3, while Flaherty got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Flaherty a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Hernandez Lopez, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Metro Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only managed eight hits.

Metro Tech's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Metro Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-2 loss against Fairfax on the 25th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-4 defeat against Alhambra on the 25th.
