Oak Hills has gone a perfect 10-0 against Burroughs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Burros at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Oak Hills was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Sultana 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
KAYLIN STEEDE was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of LIDIA MARTINEZ, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Burroughs never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hesperia last Thursday. They blew past the Scorpions 18-5. Considering the Burros have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Soriah Chancey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Jadyn Green was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Burroughs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia only posted an OBP of .250.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Burroughs, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Burroughs struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
