Soccer Game Preview: Horizon Christian Academy vs. St. John Bosco Academy

Horizon Christian Academy is 0-5 against St. John Bosco Academy since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge St. John Bosco Academy at 5:00 p.m. Horizon Christian Academy knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past five games -- so hopefully St. John Bosco Academy likes a good challenge.

Horizon Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Killian Hill Christian. Aubrey Hester was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Despite a strong season so far, St. John Bosco Academy has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pinecrest Academy. While losing is never fun, St. John Bosco Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Pinecrest Academy is ranked eighth).

Horizon Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six contests. As for St. John Bosco Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Horizon Christian Academy suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to St. John Bosco Academy when the teams last played back in March. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 4-1.
