West Valley won the last time they faced University Prep and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Aubree Wertz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Coral Tozer and Addy Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Tozer went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while Taylor got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Kylee Jaramillo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
West Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive contests.
