Soccer Recap: Satellite Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mount Dora

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Satellite walked away with it. They never let the Mount Dora Hurricanes onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kiersten Paulsson and Paige Collins scored both of Satellite's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Satellite is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season. As for Mount Dora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8-1.

Satellite will welcome Merritt Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Satellite is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.5 goals per game this season. Mount Dora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
