Basketball Game Preview: Kokomo Wildkats vs. Lafayette Central Catholic Knights

The Kokomo Wildkats and the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Kokomo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Kokomo is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northeastern just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between them and the Knights didn't end well, with Kokomo falling 61-45.

Kokomo's loss came about despite a quality game from Makaela Drake, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points. Amara Stroman was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Kokomo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Lafayette Central Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cathedral.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Kokomo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
