Softball Game Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians

The Lansingburgh Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lansingburgh, who comes in off a win.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will be up against a hot Lansingburgh team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Knights blew past Berlin/New Lebanon 8-0 on Wednesday.

Not much got past Guiliana Patregnani, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Berlin/New Lebanon off the board.

On the hitting side, Lansingburgh let Taylor Moran and Victoria Brown run wild. Moran scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Brown went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Moran a new career-high. Kyleigh Wilmott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk lost 17-3 to Hoosick Falls on Wednesday.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Cross, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lansingburgh's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lansingburgh couldn't quite finish off Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
