Baseball Game Preview: Nucla Mustangs vs. Cedaredge Bruins

The Nucla Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Cedaredge Bruins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nucla is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since April 20, 2024 last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Rangely.

Brycen Rummel made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Cedaredge waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Miners. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Cedaredge's record now sits at 3-1. As for Nucla, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
