Basketball Recap: Southwest Guilford Wins Going Away Against Southeast Guilford

Southwest Guilford won the last time they faced Southeast Guilford and things went their way on Friday too. The Southwest Guilford Cowboys blew past the Southeast Guilford Falcons 73-50. The Cowboys pushed the score to 62-42 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had little chance of recovering from.

Southeast Guilford's loss came despite strong showings from Jayce Brannon and Byron Arant. Brannon went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds, while Arant went 6 of 15 en route to 12 points and three steals. That's the most boards Brannon has posted since back in November of 2024. Jayz Jackson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Southwest Guilford's record now sits at 12-6. As for Southeast Guilford, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Guilford will square off against Northern Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Southwest Guilford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests. As for Southeast Guilford, they will be playing at home against Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Guilford is facing Ragsdale at the right time seeing as Ragsdale is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
