Baseball Recap: Antioch Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Liberty Christian Academy

Antioch Christian Academy won against Sandhills Classical Christian last Monday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went the Gators' way against the Liberty Christian Academy Knights as they made off with a 14-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Carson Phillips made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Phillips was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other pitching news, Joshua Brooks looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Antioch Christian Academy's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Back at the plate, Bailee Hardee was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Abel Pol was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Antioch Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Antioch Christian Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antioch Christian Academy will welcome Mintz Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sandhills Classical Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th.
