After a string of eight wins, East Lawrence's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Good Hope Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Raiders are ranked 17th).

East Lawrence's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Good Hope, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

East Lawrence and West Morgan will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Good Hope, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Danville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
