Baseball Recap: Bethesda Christian Comes Up Short

If Bethesda Christian was feeling good fresh off their 17-3 takedown of Liberty Christian on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell just short of the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Patriots have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Noah Dininger was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Dininger was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Bethesda Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Bethesda Christian will challenge Morristown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.7 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Cascade on the 3rd.
