Football Recap: Montezuma-Cortez Panthers vs. Crownpoint Eagles

Montezuma-Cortez gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over the Crownpoint Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Montezuma-Cortez got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Parker Conrad out in front who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Conrad got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 66 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Cody Case, who threw for 67 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Crownpoint's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montezuma-Cortez will head out to square off against Strasburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Crownpoint, they will venture away from home to challenge Socorro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
