Softball Recap: Jackson Snags 12th Win in Last 14 Games

Jackson was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against John Carroll Catholic on Saturday. The Aggies never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Zoey Rooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Rooks was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Autumn Rocker was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kristen Yeager, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jackson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Carroll Catholic only posted a batting average of .200.

Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for John Carroll Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will welcome W.S. Neal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Aggies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will host McAdory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
