Eureka is 7-1 against Tremont since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will host the Turks at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Eureka's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against El Paso-Gridley on Friday. They were beaten by the Titans 40-0. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Titans are ranked 119th).

Eureka might have lost, but man, Finn Hoffman was a machine: he rushed for 131 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 21-13 to Tri-Valley.

Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Tremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Eureka against Tremont in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 46-14 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Turks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
