Basketball Recap: Bowie Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Bowie proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Gordon Longhorns 45-42. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Longhorns are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Gordon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowie and Bellevue will face off at 1:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Bowie is facing Bellevue at the right time seeing as Bellevue is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gordon, they will head out to square off against Perrin-Whitt at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th.
