Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mariela Macias and Morgan Cicek Lead Kenston to Victory

There's no place like home for Kenston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 46-41 win over the North Rangers on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Bombers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Kenston to victory were Morgan Cicek and Mariela Macias. Cicek went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and eight boards, while Macias went 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and six assists. Cicek's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aurora Young, who posted four points.

When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Kaitlin Dobida. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points and six rebounds. Dobida has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Alex Hamilton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Kenston's record is now 4-7. As for North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Kenston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-32 victory against Riverside on the 8th. As for North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-35 loss against Chardon on the 8th.
