Waldron hasn't had much luck against Hauser recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mohawks will be playing at home against the Jets at 5:00 p.m. Waldron has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Waldron's last matchup with Jac-Cen-Del could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Mohawks lost 12-2 to the Eagles.
Waldron saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Dodson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Jackson Kuhn was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Hauser came up short against Greensburg on Tuesday and fell 16-13. The defeat continues a trend for the Jets in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.
James Oliver put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, R.J. Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Those home runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kameron Blair, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Hauser's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Waldron, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Waldron has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hauser struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Waldron couldn't quite finish off Hauser in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Mohawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
